Welcome to Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame

Established 1970

Due to COVID-19 all Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fall functions are cancelled until further notice. This includes the annual golf tournament, induction banquet and our regular bi-monthly meetings.

The Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame is a private not-for profit tax exempt organization funded completely by individuals and businesses. In addition, funds are raised at the annual Lloyd Sowell Memorial Golf Tournament.

Four elected officers serve the organization and the general membership meets bi-monthly. The four officers, the immediate past president and ten active members comprise the Selection Committee that reviews nominees for the Hall of Fame. All nominees are presented to the general membership for discussion prior to selection.

The objectives of the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame are to:

1) Honor and render special tribute to those dedicated men and women who have contributed an influential and purposeful role concerning the sport in which they actively participated

2) Promote and perpetuate the memory of those players who have made sincere contributions to the success of their sport

3) Attract the attention to all citizens to the value of amateur sports in the Memphis Metro area
